Two months ago I added an extra year to my age and it is actually difficult to believe two months has already passed. The day passed in a bit of a blur, our new sofa arrived and hubby-to-be was working nights so for a little treat we headed out for lunch at McDonalds. I know, it wasn’t really a treat for me but the littlies enjoyed it. I knew my night would come over the following weekend when hubby-to-be had the entire weekend off work.
We received a voucher to try out Frankie and Benny’s Specials Menu, so on the Friday evening we headed off to our closest Frankie and Benny’s, leaving the children at home, for the first ‘date night’ in a long time. I was, up until that night, a Frankie and Benny’s virgin, never having really thought about it as a place to go. However, two courses for £10.95 isn’t that unreasonable.
Looking at the menu, I wished I could try out more than just one meal… Out of a choice of 5 starters I decided to go for the BBQ Pulled Pork Potato Skins while the mister chose BBQ Chilli Wings. I have to be fair, the potato skins were a meal on their own however, he was far from impressed by the four miniscule chicken wings he received.
The main course was far more to his liking… the Ranch Burger he ordered filled him up sufficiently although some of the fries were a little too cooked. My Philly Chicken and Bacon Wrap was scrummy too and I could have eaten a second helping. However, the choice is pretty varied with pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and salads to try out.
For an extra £2.25 you can add an extra course on, which we did and dessert was the icing on the cake. However, my Banoffee Brownie and hubby-to-be’s Salt Caramel Cheesecake didn’t last long enough to be photographed.
Overall, the Frankie and Benny’s Specials Menu offers a wide choice of meals for a reasonable price, however it isn’t as good a deal as the massive pizza on the children’s menu. For our second visit we took the children along and the Margherita Pizza probably would have fed the four of us!
